What DMEReady covers
Updated October 25, 2026 · counted from the live question bank
DMEReady is practice for the oral part of the FAA A&P oral and practical. Every question comes from public FAA material and is checked against the source text before it goes live. This page shows exactly what is in the bank today.
Every subject in General, Airframe and Powerplant has questions. We add questions as they pass the source check; an element without a question simply doesn't have one yet.
Look up a single code from your written test report on the ACS code pages: the official element text and a sample oral question.
By section and subject
Counts are ACS elements with at least one practice question, out of the elements in that subject.

Skill (S) elements: the practical, not the oral
The ACS also lists 519 skill elements. Those are tasks you perform with your hands on the practical portion, observed by the examiner. A spoken answer can't show them, so DMEReady doesn't count them as oral content and doesn't ask about them as if they were.
For the practical, our free guides explain what the evaluator looks for, using FAA sources:
- A&P Practical Projects: What the DME Evaluates on the O&P
- Safety Wire Practical Test: Double-Twist and Turnbuckles
- Torque on the A&P Practical: Wrench Use, Extensions and Values
- Rivet Installation for the A&P Practical: Drill, Drive and Inspect
- A&P Practical Sheet Metal Layout: Bends and Rivet Rows
- Fluid Line Flaring for the A&P Practical: Single and Double Flares
- Cotter Pins and Safety Methods for the A&P Practical
- Magneto Timing on the A&P Practical: Internal and External Timing
- A&P Practical Weight and Balance: A Worked Problem
How a question gets into the bank
- It starts from one ACS element and the FAA handbook or advisory circular text that covers it (FAA-H-8083-30B, 31B and 32B, AC 43.13-1B, and similar public FAA material).
- The answer points the examiner listens for are taken from that text, and each report shows the source page so you can check it.
- Each question goes through separate checks against the source before a person approves it. If the FAA material doesn't support a good question, we don't write one.
See one real question from the bank, start to finish: How we check every question.
